It is in the fitness of things that I have to recollect my association with late Sri.Lanka Krishna Murti .
Late Sri.Lanka Krishna Murti was a man of truthful character, honest, sincere and always helpful to every person. He was divine personality with blemishless character , sincerity and dedication in the service of mankind.
He had just then passed his Degree Examination and he had married my sister Smt. Lalithamma. When my late father Sri. Ramachandraiah asked him to join Law course he had explained his stand, by saying that he cannot speak untruth and hence cannot join law.
However, destiny wanted him to practice law and uphold Truth and Justice for the poorer sections.
Late Sri.Lanka Krishna Murti was not financially sound when he joined the Law College. When his father – in – law offered financial assistance, he had politely refused saying that he would carry out his education. He was working as a teacher for his earnings and completed his Law Degree course.
Late Sri.Lanka Krishna Murti was appointed as the Deputy Registrar of High Court of Karnataka when he was practicing as an advocate. He was selected for his persuasive skills, honesty, sincerity and dedication to work. While relinquishing his duties as advocate he returned the money which had been given to him by his clients on the ground that he could not complete the cases entrusted to him. This is a lesson to the present day young advocates and a model code of conduct for legal fraternity.
After his retirement as the Addional Registrar of High Court of Karnataka, many of his collegues asked him to practice law. He did not do so saying that he should not compete with youngsters at the bar saying that they must be given all oppurtunities to come up in the profession.
After retirement he founded the monthly magazine “Dhama Prabha” to propogate the values of Sanathana Dharma. He used to conduct free Sanskrit classes. He was also responsible for the formation of Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha. In a way he was a spiritual Guru for one and all. His philosophy was that we as human beings have only to act according to the wishes of the Divine Force. He would say that we should not have any appointments, but we have disappointments. Everything would happen according to His wishes and we have to act accordingly.
Sri.Lanka Krishna Murti was a linguist and knew fine arts like music, painting, etc. He was a great scholor.
